Smoothing

This product right here, the KeraRx, the Keraplasty Keraplasty smoothing treatment. Super stoked to talk about this. Okay.

Now we can do a whole class on keratin and smoothing treatments, which we've done. Get in our library, and we have a whole video about keratin treatments. The difference between all this and gets really involved. I'm just kinda do an overview right now just just in a nutshell so we understand what's going on. So we basically have two categories of smoothing treatments. We have the keratin treatments that we've had for years that we don't do that are done with the formaldehyde or aldehydes in them. They're a little bit stronger.

They last a little bit longer, and they're great. And you should have them. And these need to start being incorporated more and more to what we do as stylists. You know, at least half your clients have a curly or frizz problem that they want fixed and these types of products should be used more by us.

We can't be afraid of this. And it's the fear that stops you from doing it. People are afraid of the aldehydes and the formaldehyde and all the stuff. Some people are just sensitive.

They're sensitive to the smell, you know, they get itchy, their nose, all of this stuff. And I have a few stylists who just are so crazy sensitive to the fumes, to the smells, they just can't do them.

But for certain people, we need them. You should have one. You know, don't buy this giant three hundred and fifty dollar liter that sits in your backroom that collects dust because we're only doing one percent of them. You know, buy a four ounce bottle or a sixteen ounce bottle.

Less money, you have it. It's part of what you do as a stylist. It's one of the tools you keep as a stylist. And they're great.

We have a whole new category of these smoothing treatments, the, you know, the formaldehyde free version. Now I know some, you know, the formaldehyde free thing. Listen, if it's just under one percent, they can legally say that it's formaldehyde free. And there's a lot of those out there. But this category I'm talking about is completely different. It is zero aldehyde, zero.

Because how keratin treatments work are that they're super acidic.

Unlike all the other chemicals we do that are alkaline and swell your cuticle and you know, do all the damage to the hair. These guys are different. They're super acidic.

So to mimic this category without using aldehydes, we have a whole new category.

They're done with high grade skin care acids, something like you would get if you went for a chemical peel.

To mimic that without the fumes, without the aldehydes, without all of those things. And there's a few of them out there. And let me tell you, I have curly hair. I have frizzier.

I've had every keratin treatment. I've done them all. I've had them all done to me over the years. And I love them and I'm always gonna have them.

This one came along. I was introduced to this one, imported from Italy.

Somebody said, here, try this one. And I did. Blown blown away.

I do it on myself and of course I have a girl that works at my office that I've done everyone to her. I use her as my guinea pig on for everything. And I have never seen her hair better. Now it's me.

So I do it the same way. I flat iron the same way. I It's all my style. The only thing that was different that I did on her this time was switch the product.

Blown away. She was blown away. Her hair has never looked better. Her hair has never felt better. This is the keroplasty known as, you know, the hair Botox or the Venezuelan, you know, blowout. Awesome.

So, this particular category is great for the people who are sensitive to the aldehydes.

You know, I can make this super straight, but for the ones who might not be looking for it to last as long, although mine lasted quite a long time when when I did mine. I was expecting it to be shorter, but it actually was great. And I got few more extra months out of it. The only difference between me having so many keratin treatments and then me doing this was the feel of my hair, throughout the life, of the service that I had felt better, performed better, blew dry better, looked better than when I had the traditional keratin treatments.

And and I can make this straight if you put tension and comb and comb it all this way and comb it all this way and put tension on it and leave it on and then do a really good blow dry and flat iron treatment. It you can straighten someone's head. Then the question is at that point, how long will it last?

You know, how long will it last is a giant question because what is she doing at home? How is she doing at home? What products is she using at home? How does she blow? How often does she blow dry her hair? All of those things are in question for the length of a product life in someone's hair.

So if you have one of these zero formaldehyde, treatments or products, I'm encouraging you. When you need to buy a new one, try this one. Just give it a try. You can buy it in a small, like, two ounce, like a single treatment thing.

Try it. It's good. If you're all in, go all in. But I'll tell you for for for my girlfriend who I've done everyone to and myself, for what I saw, what it did for her and what I saw, what it did for me, blown away.

And again, go to the library, watch the class on the Keratins, get a full, full, full understanding of how they work, what they do, exactly what's happening chemically, exactly what's happening to the hair with these two treatments. But we're not doing enough of them. We're really not. If it makes you feel more comfortable to go this way, an aldehyde free way, then do it.

But we need to be doing more of these, even it's just defrizzing, controlling a curl pattern, helping with a cut, maybe the curly hair. You just need it smooth here, but curly here. We need to start getting more creative in how we look at our haircuts and how we look at the designs we're doing to be able to take these products and be able to incorporate them all into a finished look. Love it.
