Blonding Cream

Super excited today to talk to you guys, some more about building our colorist toolkit.

I am a colorist and, you know, certain tools I need and, you know, you have to shop somewhere else.

You can mix all these different brands. They don't know they're different brands. We just have tools that we need to use and add to our stuff to make it work.

So these situations where, you know, you just you wish you had a little bit better gray coverage. You don't want to go up in volume. You just want to tweak it a little bit to get better gray coverage. You know, richer browns, redder reds, just a little something to make give it a little boost.

Get a little bit more lift, a half a level, a full level, extra lift so you don't have to go to lightener. We are not doing enough blondes with color. We can.

We have the tools. We have the formulation. We have the things we need to do beautiful, beautiful blondes with color before we go to lightener.

We need to do that ninety percent of the blondes out there being done with lightener doesn't have to be.

And I really encourage you to get on the library and watch Legally Blonde and watch Fierce Formulation. It's gonna teach you how to do these gorgeous, gorgeous blondes without Leitner. And we really have to learn how to do that. We have to get back to that.

We did it years ago. We lost it somewhere. It's all lightener and the creativity's gone. So let's talk about it for a minute.

You know, do doing, blondes with color. Sometimes you need just you wish you had an extra level of lift, to the formula just to get to that nice blonde and you don't have to go to lightener.

Yeah. You need an extra blonde and cream right here. Extra blonde and goon. We have extra blonde and cream and super by Chromastics.

These two, in my opinion, are the best.

So if you want a half a level or up to an extra level of lift that you can add extra blonding cream to your formula to get you to that level nine, to get you to that level ten, and have gorgeous blondes with color. This is the way to go. The hair is in better condition. You're not spending all this ridiculous money on bond multipliers that don't work trying to, you know, bleach the bejesus out of it and and damage it. You can do this gorgeous work with color.

And there's there's the extra blending cream super from Chromastics. If you want a level and a half extra lift out of the formula, this is the way to go. We need to learn how to formulate and use these tools to achieve the gorgeous colors that we can achieve instead of bleaching and toning, bleaching and toning, bleaching and toning on everybody.

It's just not a colorist's way to do it. Now let's talk about these these two guys and and things that we can use all the time.

I talked about the gray coverage. So if I have a basic gray coverage formula and I just wanna give it a kick, I just want a little bit extra coverage, I can use just an inch of this.

Just just squeeze like a toothpaste amount on the bottom of the bowl and and mix it up. Because these have more ammonia in them, we're going to get a little bit extra kick this way for that stubborn gray that we need just a little bit more oomph to to get that, you know, resistant hair, swell the cuticle so the color couldn't get in. This is a great tool to be able to use even for if, you know, in the rare, rare occasion that you have just the most resistant gray hair possible, I would actually take this alone.

Paint it on those areas, go back. Just take a towel, wipe it down and color right on top of it. Because you're going to pre soften.

Pre soften that hair so it will accept color and you will have the most gorgeous coverage going.

These are tools that we need for this. So this with gray coverage, smaller amounts, a little bit in the bowl, maybe we pre soften with them is going to be the best for the most resistant gray hair you've ever had.

Let's talk about reds. Right? We want to give the red a kick. We don't want to go up in volume because then we lose the tonality of the color.

We start to lighten her hair and her own natural, undertone is kicking in with the red, especially if I want a cool red. I mean, if I'm doing coppers, it's no big deal. I can go up in my volume. I lift her own natural melanin is joining with that copper and making a beautiful vivid, red.

But doing the cooler reds, the red reds, Christmas red, red violet, all of those mahogany's and and and, you know, eggplant colors. Doing those colors and you want to really get great tonality and get the red to pop with outgoing up in your volume, without pulling your own undertone which is mixing with that which you lose the real crispness of the red. You can use these guys. Same thing.

Add one or two inches in the bowl just to give the color a kick. It's gonna it's gonna, swell the cuticle. It's gonna, kind of, disperse the color and make it more vivid and vibrant without lifting, which is why everybody pre lightens and tone. They get rid of all the undertone, then they go back and put the color on so it's really vivid. The problem is Harris' pores now, it fades all of these things. We can do it with color. But certain tools like this to really get those crisp, clean, cool reds, you can use these guys to absolutely achieve that.

If you want to know how to do that, go on, the library. Again, like I said, watch Legally Blonde and watch Fierce Formulation and we go through some of that in there. Really learn how to formulate those things.

Just for for all of the purposes, gray coverage, fashion tone, blondes, color correction. She comes in with a band or she just wishes it was a level lighter or all of these little tiny small color corrections that we need.

It didn't lift enough. We know we color doesn't lift color. But if you just didn't lift enough, you just want to lift it a level to two more, you can go in straight up with extra blonde and cream and developer and go over that and just pick it up a little bit. It can be a great tool just for a quick fix, easy fix without getting into lightener and and color removers and doing all of this craziness.

These guys are just Should be like, you know, you should have twelve of them in the back room. These are part of your daily and weekly toolbox that you reach in to grab regularly.

Gotta have them. These two are great. Now every color line has them.

Most of them are just kinda So you want something that really works. And these guys you can mix with any color, any brand. It doesn't matter. You want ones that really work, that really gonna deliver for you.

Chromastics extra lightening cream and extra lightening cream super. For all of you who are buying on there, grab a tube. Just try it a little bit in some of your formulas and see if it doesn't make all the difference in the world. So that's also part of our toolkit.

I get a few more that are gonna be coming your way.
